How can one write poetry creatively?
Writing poems is a fun thing.
Poets don’t usually rave on about how they write these poems.
The simplest answer is there is no one way to write creative stuff.
So I will leave all the learned answers to the learned people.
This is how I do it.
At first, it is a striking thought.
That thought could be anything at all.
A leaf, a grasshopper, a flickering light bulb, the colours of a sunset, just a beetle darting across the floor, a bunch of cable ties lying unused on a table top- anything.
I look at the object I’m watching and wonder what else it could be besides what I plainly see.
I then marry any two objects and give it a human emotion.
So now I have a leaf being stalked by a grasshopper and flickering like a lightbulb with fear.
The beetle darting across the floor has the same emotion and the bunched up cables are twisting around like the fear in my own guts and the table top is emptied of this fear.
Now what do I have.
I have transferred the emotion of fear/fright into animated/inanimate action and converted them into metaphors with intense emotion!
Next I take the same objects and dress them differently by fusing four objects into one strand of a creative metaphor.
Now I begin to dream up the inbuilt rhythm of fear and emotion for the lines.
I can use any direction in the writing because the baseline emotion is the same and it is carried across the lines by objects which vaguely express this fear.
So here we go.
flickering lightbulb flames
of emotion scatter across the table top
spinning my escape into abject fear
falling like autumn tear shaped leaves
in brown decay.
My knotted stomach
cable tied to her departing
alone and empty as the echo
that rings in the auditorium
of my minds blank canvas
–Marshall E Gass
Its that easy.
What I have done is immerse simple objects with intense fear and loneliness at a dear one leaving.
The fear is palpable, brown and decayed like leaves, and the flickering bulb shows a way to express it.
The bulb will light up again or go out for good! That emotion is still intact but very real.
Nobody likes a lover leaving.
The pain is often an empty feeling.
I write creatively like this all the time.
You just need to be observant and spot the things you want to say to paint a word-canvas that gives you a small window through which to see the world differently.
Not everybody will understand how to do this.
You just need to keep trying and kneading the words in such a way as to get a sublime arrangement of words in metaphor that jump at at you.
Thats the way I do it.
And in the thousands of poems.
Enjoy your day.
I never thought i could have written these, until i felt its quite comfortable to express my feelings on
Below are some of my writings that i written couple of day back:

Here’s what I tell people.
find something that you care about, deeply.
Then write what you feel about it, describe it, talk to yourself on papter about it, why is it important to you?
Then go back and underline or highlight those words or phrases that stand out, that grab you when you read them out loud.
then read ONLY those words that you have underlined.
That is your first draft.
Revise it, adding the fewest words you can to smooth it out a little or to make it flow slightly better when you read it out loud.
That’s your poem.
Now, do it again, and again and again ….
you’ll get better at seeing what moves you and expressing it.
If you are doing this in a class, the teacher may or may not appreciate it because sometimes they are looking for particular stylistic techniques.
I can’t help you in that case.
That’s not how I write.
I used to teach creative writing and what you need to do is learn to free associate on paper or via computer keyboard.
To perform this task we empty our mind of all thought, then start scribbling random words.
It makes no matter what these words are or what is being said: just type or scribble without thought, review, self-censorship, or any conscious awareness of what you are actually writing.
Paradoxically, creativity proceeds from an empty mind, because from emptiness arises our own peculiar sensibility.
Another name for this exercise is “automatic writing.
” You can also find it described online as “timed writing.
” I did this most days for a period of three years, and was never again at a loss for words.
It's a matter of training your brain to freely express itself through your hands.
Once you put in the proper time doing this work you'll never experience writer's block…for the rest of your life.
You'll also be able to begin a new poem at will, though finishing it can at times be difficult.
Words & lines count based poems: This is the simplest and the most easiest prompt we have ever given and worked like wonders.
The objective was to write a poem, where each line has a limit to the no.
of words to be used and total no.
of lines of the poem is also restricted.
Each line when read seperately should be complete in itself and when the entire poem is read, it should have a meaningful outcome.
For example: A #222poem where each line has 2 words and you need to finish the poem in just 3 lines.

You can tell your words in attractive and in presentable way by poems.
It does not come by force it comes from your heart from your passion from your observation.
As i experienced with my writing poems are the assembled words which denote a situation in a fun and attractive way.
I just assembles the situations and try to link the words which i think are effective and just paste that whole idea on page with whole words that come up with poem.
I am a common man who completed graduation with English Honours.
I am very interested in writing poetry.
One with dull mind cannot write poetry .
Poetry must be creative and lively.
It needs so much feelings, sorrow or happy whatever it may be.
If you want to write Creative Writings like poetry, you must have to gather feelings on your interested subject.
You can write poetry by putting your imotional feelings in a rhythmic way.
Poetry is a spontaneous overflow of human mind.
