Do you mind sharing a poem

Do you mind sharing a poem?

yes i would love to share a poem with you that i have composed recently for my father
hope you like it!
My Father in heaven guiding us!
Her hair was up in a ponytail,
her favourite dress tied with a bow
Today was daddy’s day at school,
And she couldn’t wait to go.

But her mummy tried to tell her,
That she probably should stay home.

why the kids might not understand
if she went to school alone.

but she was not afraid;
she knew just what to say.

what to tell her classmates
of why he wasn’t there today.

The girl went to school,
eager to tell them all
About a dad she never sees
A dad who never calls.

father in heaven guiding us!
One by one the teacher called
A student from the class
to introduce their daddy,
As seconds slowly passed.

At last the teacher called her name,
every child turned to stare
each of them was searching
for a man who wasn’t there
“where’s her daddy at?”
she heard a boy called out
“she probably doesn’t have one,”
another student dared to shout.

and somewhere from the back
she heard a daddy say
“looks like another busy dad,
Too busy to waste his day.

with her hands at her back
slowly she began to speak.

and out from the mouth of child,
came words incredibly unique.

“My daddy couldn’t be here,
because he lives so far away.

But I know he wishes he could be,
since this is such a special day.

We used to fudge at sundays,
and ice cream in a cone.

and though you cannot see him
I’m not standing here alone.

“cause my daddy’s always with me,
even though we are apart.

I know because he told me,
he will forever be in my heart.

With that, her little hand reached up,
And lay across her chest.

Feeling her own heartbeat,
Beneath her own favourite dress.

And from somewhere in the crowd of dads,
Her mother stood in tears.

Proudly watching her daughter,
who was wise beyond her years.

And when she dropped her hand back down,
staring straight into the crowd.

She finished with a voice so soft,
But her message clear and loud.

“I love my daddy very much, He’s my shining star.

And if he could, he’d be here,
But heaven’s just too far.

You see he was a fireman, And died just this past year
when airplane hits the tower,
And made the meaning of freedom very clear.

But sometimes when I close my eyes,
It’s like he never went away.

he closed her eyes and saw him there that day.

And to her mother’s amazement,
she witnessed with surprise!
A room full of daddies and children,
all starting to close their eyes.

” I know you’re with me daddy”
To the silence she called out!
And what happened next made believers,
Of those once filled with doubt.

Not one in the room could explain it,
For each one of their eyes had been closed.

But there on the desk beside her,
Was a fragrant long-stemmed pink rose.

And a child was blessed if only for a moment,
By the love of her shining bright star.

And given the gift of believing,
“That heaven is never too far”
Today he will be very happy to see his kid growing as ceo of smmwowpanel.

Love you papa

Here I write in vain,
For all this, I can't bear the pain.

All the things I did that failed
leave me to submit to my own jail.

The red river,
It rushes down my hand,
But I say no, you must stay
And I stand from where I lay.

I pray our lord forgives you, for you left me to the wolves
In the end I know I did submit to your rules.

Alas, the time has come, the end is near
I seek the help from the one I fear.

He lingers deep, And he never sleeps
He follows every step I do take
He whispers that he does it for my sake.

The pills don't help, nor do you
Maybe you shouldn't have let me so close to you.

Silenced by your words,
It’s My voice against hers,
This is a curse.

To which there is no end
Do you feel the desolation that’s been sent?
The red from your cheeks are drained white,
Tell me, if you loved me would you fight?
would you tend to it before it kindled,
would you break your pride in the middle?
When I pulled you close,
when I held your waist,
Did you feel my embrace?
When I held your hand,
when I whispered those words,
was it all unheard?
Please forgive me, when I say it was hard,
To make that decision when it was so dark.

I considered both sides, I really did,
But it was never enough, never enough to truly leave.

Now the time has come, I must be going now.

It has been broke, both our vows
But Before you, I now shall bow
and pray serenity, for you, the Lord allows.

Don’t want to add anything, and take away from its beauty.

Secret Admirers!
Insomnia caught me that night,
Offered to sell me off is every single light.

Anonymous were the moist dews,
Along with the silent screams of the battling leaves.

Way far I was to reach and listen them,
While I overheard- “THE GEMINI GEM”.

Breeze slithering bangs from my eyes,
Called bard within that lies.

I pictured here my peaceful sleep,
Rather in which I would be running deep.

Bright and white pinned some beams,
Not to seethe although it seems.

Dews assisted by moonlight,
Rose me up quite right.

Tryst called so was fascinating,
Termed goals were the topic illuminating.

Sururbs to us were full of tranquility,
And I was called to garner as vitality.

The girth was small, yet glacial,
Among all their gestures facial.

Curtains at window saw cold hamper,
Hastily covered me, to boast me pamper.

All those had so long integrated,
To have me soon interrogated.

Intermittent boosts were the theme,
I being client, they made this scheme.

A kindled voice- “Invincible are never the destinations”,
While other stern- “Do not make eyes as here were exclamations!”.

Mute were now my notifications,
Alongside window gave the justification.

Underneath kinetic energy started to increase,
This is a legacy seldom to decrease.

With merriment and powers in my fist,
Another mirage ended with a twist.

Yeah sure.
I rarely answer on Quora and I have written around 50 poems till date and yet I have shared none of them .
I fuse traditional poetry with modern norms and I know not if people will like it.

I wrote this poem last year when I was in 9th grade which speaks about the the last moment in our life when death is approaching .

Summer Shades
Draw me into the shades of summer
And bind me to the diverging shafts
The desolate mortar roads beckon to me
Petrichor drifts me into countless deja vu’s
The blue mantle of light spells salvation
And the sun ceases in perpetual isochronism
Draw me into that warmth of summer
And heat me with the warmest radiance
The summer sun, infernos and embers
Turn cold in solace and sojourn
Behold! The carriages draw closer
The light within me bursts brighter
And the radiance within me cracks through its shackle
At once brightness sinks in the soft shades of summer.

Roads go ever on, Well, it’s from one of my favourite movies “The Lord of the Rings”.
A part of it is shown in the first part of the movie “The Fellowship of the ring”, featuring Gandalf ‘the Grey’, when he comes to Shire to visit his old friend Bilbo Baggins, the Hobbit.
It goes as,
Roads go ever ever on,
Over rock and under tree,
By caves where never sun has shone,
By streams that never find the sea;
Over snow by winter sown,
And through the merry flowers of June,
Over grass and over stone,
And under mountains in the moon.

Roads go ever ever on,
Under cloud and under star.

Yet feet that wandering have gone
Turn at last to home afar.

Eyes that fire and sword have seen,
And horror in the halls of stone
Look at last on meadows green,
And trees and hills they long have known.

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.

Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way,
Where many paths and errands meet.

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.

Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with weary feet,
Until it joins some larger way,
Where many paths and errands meet.

And whither then? I cannot say.

The Road goes ever on and on
Out from the door where it began.

Now far ahead the Road has gone.

Let others follow, if they can!
Let them a journey new begin.

But I at last with weary feet
Will turn towards the lighted inn,
My evening-rest and sleep to meet.

Still 'round the corner there may wait
A new road or secret gate;
And though I oft have passed them by,
A day will come at last when I
Shall take the hidden paths that run
West of the Moon, East of the Sun
It’s a beautiful poem written by J.
R Tolkien, introducing serene ‘Shire’

Yes, sure.
I love to share my poems.
I am sharing a poem on stargazing.
Hope you’ll like it.
Here goes the poem :
Bright stars
How they sparkle!
A new spectrum dawns
For you and me
A visual delight!
I’ve always liked flight
Flight opens into heart
Is special to me
Sky kindles with stars
Is for you and me.

Stellar channels burn
Burn me too
I am born anew
Now we are together
Limitlessly spacious.

Endless celestial navigation
Showers light
For you and me
I gaze all stars
With me you gaze too.

Stars move
Heart moves too
Upward journey starts
I go lighter
For you and stars.

I gaze the sky
Stars go fatter
Horizons move
I move on and you move on
Movements happen for you and me.

Stars shine
Mind frolics
Feet don’t touch the ground
Further and further away from the earth
I move on and you move on.

Stars in all directions
We gaze far out horizons
They let us swing in joy
Spectra of stars brighten our light
New perspectives arise for you and me.

A new spectrum comes true
We come out of darkness
Move to starlit band of Milky Way
Into the infinite sky
Reservoir of light for you and me.

I invite you all to make some changes
Out of indoors
Got to do something new
Gaze stars
Uncountable jewels in the sky.

Bright stars communicate
Listen to the tales of sky lore
We mustn’t let the time slip away
Stars weave tales
For you and me.

I’d like to show you
A night sky
And realize the glory of light
Together lets gaze
You and me.

Pregnant brightness of light!
A twinkle lights up the dark sky
Redeems you and me
We fly high in the sky
And shine like stars.

For the times when nothing seems fair,
For the times when nobody seems to care.

For the times when life has lost it's value,
For the times when world seems like a better place without you.

For the times when everything is at pause,
For the times when you struggle to find a cause.

Here's something you should know,
It will get better soon, don't let your life go.

One more.

PS: I made the background drawing for the first one.

This is the song or say poem I had written , When I failed to get her in my life.

You can check other songs that I have written in my Quora profile.

Title: Don’t wait
I lied to myself , that I don't love her.

I lied to myself , that I don't feel for her.

I lied to myself , that I don't miss her.

Now , I regret the things , that I have lied.

Wish I had told her before
Cause , Now her memories haunt me every other night.

Don't wait , Don't wait , Don't wait.

Chorus 1 :
All I am is , mere a hopeless lover .

Looking for her , here and there.

I couldn'd find her , cause she is happy with someone other.

And I'm alone here with my despair ,
While she is digging with his new guy everywhere.

Refrain :
Don't wait , Don't wait , Don't wait.

Chorus 2 :
All I ever wanted was to be with her ,
Hold her hands and feel her.

Take her home and kiss her.

Make her feel safe , and love her.

Never hurt her , always heal her.

It's the little desire ,
I keep
Which I see , with every moment I breath.

Refrain : Don't wait , Don't wait , Don't wait.

Chorus 3 :
You soaked me with your love ,
But your love was cheap , which made me green.

Why you did this to me?
You Broke me , hurt me and trod me .

You took my soul and crushed it .

Now Im walking in the dark ,
Waiting for the light to see.

With false hope !
Refrain : Don't wait , Don't wait , Don't wait.

All I am doing is wasting my time ,
Wasting my love all the time.

And Wishing you , to be in my life .

It's time , I should say to you "Good bie"
Guess it's the only time , it will make sense

Well ! I had written this poem in the year 1998 June, and it is in my mother tongue Marathi.
This form is call ‘Mukta Chhanda’ in Marathi, and ‘Free Verse’ in English, means-Poetry whose lines do not have a regular pattern.
In this form the concept and thought is more important than anything else.

The poem is all about frustration of a common man and his state of mind.
He is living in unfavorable conditions and struggling for better tomorrow.
I have share this poem a week before on ‘The Still-Alive Poets Society’.
Please bare with me for translation mistakes.

I don’t like you coming to me,
Wearing your armor on body like this,
I could not open the knot you fixed hurriedly,
All moods get spoiled,
Fighting against these established,
Struggling against this system,
We are completely exhausted,
In such conditions,
This type of your behavior is like,
A typical conservatives,
Entitled rights but not to give easily,
It is not fair,
exploitation by one to next exploit.

That’s why, I say,
Go a bit better,
Tomorrow itself you buy one muslin gown,
Amazing good, Very loose n free,
Will decide what to do next?

I wrote this in the summer of 2015 while going through a lot of things at once.

No tears
And a lot of fears
Anxiety and solidarity
Lost in ambiguity
Searching for amity
No tears
But please be here
I am drowned
A queen uncrowned
Lost her round
No tears
Lost cheers
A battle failed
A fairy tale-ed
Need to be bailed
No tears
Lost dears
Bright is dull
Infinity is null
Vibrant is lull
No tears
Horror nears
Perplexity in the air
Mind is bare
Ecstasy – rare
No tears
Wishing for deaf ears
Deaf to the commotion
Wishing for a vacation
From the confusion

No Echo.

In the silence a heart is breaking for a love it will never know,
a skylark trills the air for his love to hear,
In the silence a bee is humming, the flowers send her a heady perfume,
In the silence a gentle breeze surrounds him and comforts his lonely mind.

A breaking heart shatters the silence.

the skylark silently shed a tear,
The bee feels the searing pain,
The flowers bow down their head in shame,
The breeze hears no echo.

The skylark sings its sweetest song,
the bee hums a louder tune
the flowers send a stronger perfume,
the breeze cradles the gifts and knows where it must go.

In the silence she walks with her head held high,
In the silence a breeze gently wafts perfume and and gently touches her hair and whispers the Larks song, the bees tune and the echo of a breaking heart.

In the silence, a heart is broken,
In the silence, a tear has fallen,
In the silence, there is no echo.

The pain and sore
I'm the one who is not
Going to shine bright
And can't tell the words
That aren't alright
Things neither gonna change
Nor my life
I can only stay
And can't move to
Bring back to life
All the phases
All the Stories
All the cases
All the glories
They'll be there
In my past bad time
I can't tell you why
It's hurting inside
Never been on the high
I am lowest one in the list
Never been the same
I'm the game changer of this spin
Trying to reach the uppest of all time
I'm the one who is falling everytime
Never said too much
I'm the person who is quite
Never look at the sun
I love the moon of the silent night
Never stayed forward
I'm hidden at backside
Never felt the pain
I'm the clutter of my mind
Still Can't wish
For the better life
Cause I'm the evil one
And the sucker of my life
The things that I've gone through
I can still fell it like
It was when the things happened at that time.

The room is broken.

Anxiously, a door creaks open.

A doctor paces forward.
The silence silences.

Wailing, the doctor’s statement licenses.

She bites her tongue, holds back the tears,
voice cracking; ‘I want more years’

Rock Bottom.
End of the pit.
Life had been mean.

A tender age, the world in all its glory, left unseen.

That insight made her quit.

She stopped wasting time and took over the controls.

Changed her demeanor, filled the empty holes.

Exiting the hospital, no one saw tears on her face.

She was getting through this with grace.

She decided to survive with wit and humour.

Fighting the hostile tumour,
she flew through the final days of her life.

Her legacy was not limited to being somebody’s wife.

She stood up, laughed in death’s face, lean.

This was her life, her choice, and she was a queen.

This is a poem I've written, its based on depression! Its one of my favorite works! Hope you like it too!
"You know what depression is no right?
For you its a person who’s head is always hung down
But for us its more than a battle with our inside demons
In the world of feelings we are half floating and half drown
Don’t laugh at a guy who cries alone
He is in danger help him out
Don’t judge girl by her smoking habit
She is just puffing her emotions in the air bit by bit
I want to talk to someone
But no they won’t understand
What if after seeing the scars
They will leave my hand
Can’t rely on someone to make us feel better
The only thing to do is pretend and laugh
Maybe colorful outside but the darkness have reigned over our heart
We have two mood people call us bipolar
You don’t really know how it feels to have two sounds
Staring at the stars looking for answers
Want to get lost never want to be found
The feelings locked under now craving to come out
Please talk to someone,
We are suffocating they sought
No we are not coward or losers
Just a little confused and suffocation
None can do for us
Not even a small room or a mansion
Its not a subject to study, But pain to feel
The insomnia and nightmares cannot be healed
We have long ago ran away from you
Just our body is with you, our mind long gone too.

This is war that can never be loose or won
In the battle to stay alive our mind is torn"

Gardener of Death

I oversee the land that grieves,
acres of lawn and fallen leaves,
prolific mounds of mother earth,
pregnant mementos of rebirth.

Manicured undulating hills
mask the role terra firma fills,
to swallow mortals in her loam,
their destiny and final home.

And as they slowly decompose,
their longing rests in he who rose,
spurning death and burial shrouds,
beatific through parting clouds.

As for me, gardener of death,
I prune old growth and baby's breath,
wielding the very pruning knife
I use to trim the tree of life.

By Ravi Verma
we all aspire for the fame and riches,
work really hard even take the wrong ways.

make friends to only get what's needed,
and let others down and yourself ahead.

we always dream to become the one and only,
and our dumb mind doesn't let us to visualize the reality.

we believe in our unrealistic dreams,
live in it even plan for it.

but then one day,
you realize it is not in your range.

that day you try to run and to escape,
the adrenaline flows through all the nerve space.

you become restless and repent for those days,
when you cursed your friends and got misleaded.

when you preferred solitude and followers unknown,
when you were just social but not so extrovert.

this is the time where we can all realize,
that we are humans not just by the appearance,
but we have inherited the genes mannish.

this is how we fight disasters not just by the strengths,
but also through unity, love, and care.

To a Beloved in Doubt
How many ways have I played,
And how many times were you dismayed?
My pranks aplenty wash over you,
Did you ever see my love pass through?
Gaze on where my sorrows bleed,
Where fools tread and angels recede,
That fiery plane where harrowing pain,
Came for my guilt and shall come again,
It is but justice that left us respite,
Lest ghoulish nightmares of abandoned night,
Should tear my nerve and sinew and bone,
Lest testing eyes should blind me alone,
As one with the crowd and yet disowned,
Where blindness saw and silence groaned;
Yes, I am he who served without thought,
For future first and family distraught,
Who guarded the house that she made home,
That lurking terrors let freely roam,
Them whom I never truly saw,
For for my duty the ice did thaw,
But in the misguided passion of youth,
That innocent bystander, troubled,uncouth,
Was not he too an omen, a sign,
Of his cultured masters design?
Was I not keen on standing fair,
As emotions ran chill and breath was rare,
Looked I through the lens that many a troubles passed,
And in its journey many a laurels amassed,
But say I truly what happened, what passed,
I in excellence my record outclassed,
Was I too broken, were intuitions blind?
They in my courage led through the grind,
What deity, angel or saint,
Led me through with restraint,
That moment of agony, corrupted by bliss,
As that child nigh the deathly kiss,
But no said the stranger, no said the judge,
Lest I had lonely crowds to trudge,
But went I in that direction merry,
Where hearts are pierced with every parry,
Let me play in the soothing rain,
The salt of my labour, the worth of my grain.

YAY Here it is
I’m a human too
I can memorize Trivia for a game I’ve barely played
I can stand up for myself
I can handle myself
I can be mature and have friends
I can do it
I’m human too
And I cry when something goes wrong
I’m human too
And I love myself
I can have empathy
Be good at science
I can stand my own
Words in my head
Tell me to fight now
I can love someone
Show them my light
I can make poetry
I can yell and scream
For the rights I deserve
Cause I’m worth it all
I try and try again
Cause I’m human too!
It’s poetry about being me being autistic.

If it makes you think of human by Christina Perri it's cause I listened to it while writing this.

This is one of my recent poems…
Hope u like it…
Memories are far behind.

A deep black void in my mind.

Rather than mourning, you can be happy instead.

My soul from deep down inside me said.

The blood in my veins froze that night.

My mind and my heart had a huge fight.

My heart said,"love her, there is no harm".

My mind said, "move on, she is just a charm".

The voice of my heart was loud enough to win.

Now the decision is hurting me,and I am dying within.

One of my poems.
I’ve written many poems in this genre more than two years back.

I’ll always find you beautiful, today and everyday
No matter if your skin doesn’t stay refined
No matter if it loses its sheen and shine
Whatever may happen to it, Sunshine
I’ll always find you beautiful, today and everyday
What if silver roots won’t have its charm
What if messy curls would have a dismayed alarm
What if depilation won’t let you becharm
I’ll always find you beautiful, today and everyday
It’s okay when age will start appearing
It’s okay when you’ll act groping
It’s sheerly okay when limbs go halting
I’ll always find you beautiful, today and everyday
Even if your winsome laugh stop to enamour
Even if you start stuttering more and more
Even if your deep eyes personify staleness and sour
I’ll always find you beautiful, today and everyday

This is my first audio answer.
I hope you guys like it.

It's over
The broken heart, was never whole,
Inside me is my shattered soul.

Screaming for help, to ease the pain,
Knowing this effort, will go in vain.

In this pit of endless pain and guilt,
The love for life was never even built.

But crushed as soon as it was found,
After being chased by the merciless hound.

My soul was torn, for the pleasure of thee,
As I begged for mercy, and pleaded to be free.

I cried and my tears, were turned to blood,
And I was brutally slaughtered, in my once happy hut

She was like a free bird
and freedom was her best friend
She did go to school a
and was a happy little soul
She had a burning desire
to become an astronaut
But once her age struck fourteen
she was wedded to a man
whom she has never seen
Freedom was no more her best friend
and even her destiny parted ways
Her desire died
and after that she never expected anything
Because she knew
that there was no value of her expectations.
